Delete your FamleeTime account
Last updated 16 October 2026
You can delete your FamleeTime account yourself, at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted, and what is kept.
How to delete your account
In the app
- Sign in and open the More tab.
- Under Settings, choose Delete account.
- Read what will happen, type your email address to confirm, and choose Delete account.
On the website
- Sign in and open Settings.
- Choose Delete account (or go straight to the delete page).
- Read what will happen, type your email address to confirm, and choose Delete account.
The page also offers to deactivate your account instead, which closes your sign-in but leaves what you shared with your families, and your blocks and reports as they are. That is not deletion: choose Delete account to delete.
If you are the only owner of a family that has other members, you first need to make another member an owner (in the family's members page). If you pay for a family's plan, it is set to end at the close of the period you have paid for and you are not charged again.
What is deleted
Deletion happens straight away when you confirm, and can't be undone. We delete:
- your account and your sign-in;
- your profile, with its photo and background image;
- every post you made, with its photos and videos, and the comments, reactions and recipes other people added to it;
- the comments and reactions you left on other people's posts;
- traditions you wrote, and the recipes you saved or shared;
- the invites you sent or accepted, and your calendar requests;
- your calendar and video-meeting connections, including the stored access tokens;
- the members you blocked, and any block another member made of you;
- reports you sent that we have already dealt with, and every report about your posts, comments or profile (they go with what they were about);
- your membership of every family, so you no longer appear in any of them.
What is kept, and for how long
- Profiles you made for relatives (for example a grandparent who has no account) stay in the family tree, for the family's owners to keep or remove. Other people's relationship links to your profile remain, showing only your name.
- Replies other people wrote to a comment of yours are kept and shown on their own.
- Family fields that other people filled in on their profiles stay, even if you created the field.
- A family you were the only member of stays, with no one in it, until we remove it. Its join link stops working.
- Payment records. If you paid for a family's plan, we keep the invoices and the payment provider's record of the customer, which hold no posts or photos. The plan is set to end at the close of the period you paid for. We keep these records indefinitely.
- Reports you sent that we haven't dealt with yet, about something that is still on FamleeTime, so we can still review it and enforce the Terms. They no longer say who sent them, and the note you wrote is removed. A report about a profile you made for a relative stays too, without saying you made it. We keep a report only until we have reviewed it, then delete it.
- Server logs and crash reports, which are not tied to your posts. They are kept for 90 days.
- Backups. Deleted data may remain in our backups for a limited time before it is overwritten. The length of that time is to be confirmed.
- Waitlist email. If you joined the waitlist before you had an account, that entry is separate and stays until you unsubscribe.
